“Hope” is the thing with feathers
By Emily Dickinson
“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard - And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land - And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
Is “Hope” a thing with “Wings”?
There is much angst, fear, injustice, violence, and oppression in the world right now. "Things with Wings" is intended to be a light, uplifting (wings!!!) fanciful show- a brief segue into a vision of creative wonder.
The call is for fantastical creatures and constructions that depict or hint at the possibility of flight. Well observed or interpreted winged things in the natural world are also welcome. We will be looking for beautifully rendered or constructed creations with an emphasis on originality and playfulness.
