ACCI members Suzane Beaubrun, Jeannie Haydon and Valerie Sobel present a show of 20+ artists & makers who conjure treasures from ordinary and discarded materials.
Waste Not Want Not features a diverse group of local artists, each with a unique approach to transforming recycled materials. From artists who rescue objects designed to clog our landfills, to those breathing new life into scraps of organic materials—we invite the viewer to appreciate the source as well as the final work. Our featured artists include Jason Mecier, world famous for his celebrity portraits often comprised from the subject’s own trash, and Bernadette Bohan, recently featured on abc7news.com for her stunning monochrome panels of plastic discarded toys. Since we're not able to host a traditional Opening Reception for this show, we will be having an Opening Day Open House from 11am to 6pm. We will have specific windows of time for some of the participating artists to greet viewers and speak about their work; please check our social media pages in the coming week for a schedule of live events. |
