Clay has been my medium of choice since the 70's. Studying at the San Francisco Art Institute served as an opportunity to refine and focus my designs into recognizable figures. With these figures, I have attempted to capture a range of human expressions and feelings. My work I describe as illustrative, telling stories that are meant to be entertaining and sometimes humorous. I enjoy often mixing media such as vintage photos specifically chosen to nudge the viewer into imagining the possible relationships between the figures and those in the photos.
