In the Presence of Pomegranates

    September 1-26, 2021

    A group show of ACCI artists and selected guests showcasing the pomegranate as a symbol of beauty, abundance, and mysticism. 

    “The pomegranate is a beautiful, iconic, and seductive fruit. From its bell shaped blossoms, to its leathery red skin, to its ruby-hued seeds and juice, the pomegranate represents many things across many cultures. Throughout the ages, this exquisite botanical has evoked fertility, passion, fortune, power...even death and rebirth. In essence, the pomegranate is a timeless symbol of life itself. This exhibition seeks to unveil the rich layers of meaning the pomegranate holds for us individually, culturally, and spiritually through the lens of the arts. We invite you to savor the beauty and inspiration here...in the presence of pomegranates.”

    For this exhibition, the subject of pomegranates can be expressed through literal representation, color, form, landscape, poetry, photography, or abstraction. Show is curated by ACCI member Holly DeFount. Work in all media is encouraged.
