I am inspired by the human form and the emotions that are conveyed through movement, gesture and facial expressions From the mother's embrace of her child, the stretch of the dancers' long limbs, to the withdrawn posture of prayer, isolation or pain. I try to capture that moment in time-that moment that tells the story.
For many years I was a dancer and dance teacher. I look for the emotion within a person or situation as expressed in shape and form - just like dance, sculpture can tell a story without words.
These are some themes that inform my work.
My figurative sculptures have been exhibited at the Occidental Center for the Arts and are featured at the Russian River Gallery in Guerneville.
