In the spirit of cultural awareness and friendship 24 artists from Sakai, Japan and Berkeley have come together to show a blend of the very best of East and West, traditional and contemporary art at ACCI Gallery.
Pacific Bridge: Art from Sister Cities is a mix of media from painting to photography. Exhibition Dates September 1-30, 2014 The following Japanese artists included in this exhibition: Masumi Boshita, Takuya Fujiwara, Masao Fumita, Hozumi Higashino, Junichi Hotta, Toyoaki Ikushima, Shozaburou Kawai, Masaru Oya, Keiko Sawada, Kyoko Suekane, Masako Takai, Kei Tuchinaga, Mikako Watanabe, and Hiroko Yamashita. Berkeley Bridge Artists included in this exhibition: Vicki Chardak, Clare Olivares, Philip Donahue, Jean B. Hearst, Irene Imfeld, Lenore McDonald, Victoria Veedell, Whitney Vosburgh, and John Watson. About Berkeley Bridge Artists Berkeley Bridge Artists (BBA) promotes artistic exchange and goodwill between artists of the East Bay and Japan, just like its parent organization, the Berkeley Sakai Association. BBA's mission of artists fostering communication and understanding expands the association's impact. BBA, founded in 2004, is uniquely positioned to provide interaction between artists and communities. Art is a universal language and a wonderful vehicle for international communication.
