Nilou Farzam
Fine Art
Niloufar, an artist originally from Iran, discovered her passion for creativity at an early age, inspired by her mother‘s as artistic spirit. Though once expected to pursue medicine, her heart was always tied to art. At 16, she moved to the United States alone, leaving behind family and homeland during a time of war and uncertainty. These profound experiences continue to shape her perspective and artistic voice.
Her academic journey led her to earn an honors degree in microbiology and pre-med from Arizona State University, where she trained her scientist’s eye. Yet her devotion to art never faded. Guided by mentors such as Dorothy Odland, Karen Frey, David Hardy, and Stephen C. Wagner, she honed her craft, weaving together scientific observation with painterly intuition. Today, Niloufar’s work celebrates the absolute wildness, strength, and beauty of nature, while warning of its destruction through climate change. She paints with the reverence for mountains, coasts, sunsets, and trees, transforming emotion into a form, color, and texture. Through her art, she invites viewers into a dialogue with nature- urging awe, reflection, and a call to protect our fragile environment. |
