Hours: ~30 hours weekly (Wednesday - Saturday Schedule)

About ACCI Gallery
ACCI Gallery is a vibrant cooperative gallery located in the heart of North Berkeley’s Gourmet District. Established in 1959, ACCI is the oldest arts and crafts cooperative west of the Mississippi, providing a dynamic platform for both emerging and established artists. The gallery represents approximately 120 artists working in ceramics, glass, jewelry, painting, printmaking, photography, textiles, sculpture, and more. As a member-driven cooperative, ACCI fosters a strong community among artists, patrons, and staff while serving as a premier retail and exhibition space for distinctive arts and crafts.
Position Overview
The Media, Marketing, and Event Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing exhibitions and events, overseeing digital content creation, and supporting the daily operations of the gallery. This role requires a creative and highly organized self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Additionally, this position includes front desk management three days per week, requiring excellent customer service, sales, and inventory management skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts and enjoys engaging with artists, patrons, and the broader community.

Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in marketing, event coordination, media management, or retail management
- Strong ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
- Experience with social media management (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Strong writing and communication skills for newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials
- Strong customer service and sales experience
- Passion for the arts and familiarity with contemporary art trends
Key ResponsibilitiesEvents & Exhibitions
- Develop event timelines, protocols, and exhibition calendars
- Coordinate with curators, artists, and volunteers to execute events
- Design and manage promotional materials, including postcards, posters, digital media, and exhibition catalogs
- Create exhibition layouts, title cards, and artist bios
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns for gallery events
- Collaborate with Visit Berkeley and NOSHA to enhance event visibility
- Lead social media efforts, creating engaging content and managing community engagement
- Develop, write, and send out the gallery’s weekly newsletter
- Craft marketing copy for the gallery’s website, social media, and promotional materials
- Design graphics, logos, and branding materials for events and campaigns
- Maintain relationships with community partners to expand outreach
- Maintain and update the ACCI Gallery website, ensuring all content is accurate and up to date
- Manage and refresh artist pages, ensuring artist information, images, and bios are current
- Regularly update the events and exhibitions pages with upcoming shows, receptions, and workshops
- Maintain the members page, keeping membership details and artist information accurate
- Ensure the website reflects ACCI’s branding and effectively promotes exhibitions and events
Front Desk Management (3 Days per Week)
Sales & Customer Relations
- Maintain a warm, clean, and inviting shopping environment for customers
- Provide knowledgeable insights about artwork, artists, and artistic processes
- Listen to customer needs and provide appropriate assistance
- Share information about ACCI events, membership opportunities, and gallery history
- Ensure that the Daily Sales Desk Checklist & Closing Checklist are completed each day
- Communicate with artists to add or remove inventory via email and phone
- Generate inventory reports for artists to aid in tracking efforts
- Use POS and inventory management systems
- Work closely with the Gallery Director to ensure smooth operations
- Supervise and train member artists fulfilling work hours
- Answer phone calls and emails regarding general inquiries and artist questions
- Order supplies and maintain stock for daily gallery operations
