About the Exhibition: Showcasing sartorial splendor and exuberance, this exhibition calls for art to wear: objects fashioned to disguise, enhance, adorn, bedeck, camouflage, enshroud, veil, cloak, or augment.

All kinds of wearable art are welcome. Glasses. Headdresses. Tiaras. Hats. Gloves. Bodices. Shoes. Capes. Peplums. Pants, skirts, vests and costumes — wearable and decorative.

We are looking for inventive, fearsome, wildly fantastical, beautiful, quirky, futuristic, atavistic, colorful and fantabulous creations from the sublime to the zany —using materials both traditional and unusual. Found objects and recycled materials are encouraged! Artworks will be evaluated for the quality of their craftsmanship, as well as the originality in the making of the pieces.

Curated by Mirto Golino.
Eligibility:
  • Open nationally to artists of all backgrounds and ages.

Submission Guidelines:
  •  Artists may submit up to three pieces of original artwork for consideration.
  • Work must have been made within the last two years.
  • All media welcome. Found objects and recycled materials encouraged. *no video or pieces that need an electrical outlet.
  •  Pieces that are not free standing or wall hanging - must have an appropriate stand or frame to facilitate display. All wall hanging pieces must be “wired” or have some sort of apparatus making them ready for hanging.
  •  In terms of size, we will be selecting only a limited number of large pieces, (e.g., ballgowns, floor-length capes, full-body suits), and favoring smaller accouterments more manageable for our gallery.
  •  Submissions must be accompanied by a brief artist statement (50-100 words) explaining the inspiration and significance of the artwork. This statement may be displayed alongside the artwork in the exhibition.
  • Artists should include a short bio (100-150 words) highlighting their background, artistic journey, and any relevant experiences or achievements.
