Grab Him Pussycats Cat Toys by Curator Suzane Beaubrun
Suzane Beaubrun, is an Oakland artist focusing on jewelry and multi-media sculpture. In admiration for the concept of up-cycling, she transforms common discarded materials into art to wear and treasure. In addition to working with found and recycled materials, Suzane engages in more traditional metal smithing techniques. Works often include intricate examples of hand piercing and sawing, crocheting and weaving fine silver or color coated wire. Her work is an eclectic exploration of texture, color and form.
Bernadette Robinson
"As a self-taught artist, my journey to creating visual art began as a natural extension of my lifelong passion for storytelling. My practice explores human transformation, ancestral memory, sacred embodiment, and the architecture of becoming, particularly within the African diaspora, and as a woman of color.
Originally from Los Angeles, California and now, a longtime resident of Oakland, I have always explored my life, humanity, and emotion through the written word. But I find that with my visual art, I can survey the layered experience of being human in another way. I try to excavate the divine ordinary and bridge meeting places for our spirits, and those of the past and the future, reorganizing that all are present.
I want to echo the persistence of the history that tries to be erased and the resilience of my African American / Creole ancestors. The human spirit is what endures and transforms; the unspeakable pain and divine resilience carry light. In this visual, layered language, time becomes both material and metaphor: a landscape of remembrance, honor, and revelation."
Pretty Fun Jewelry by Riquelle Small
Riquelle Small was born in Los Angeles, California, and has called the Bay Area her home for many years. She was exposed to art early as a child and later participated in the underground art and music scenes in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City. She works in multiple mediums: jewelry, film/video making, photography, mixed media, collage, painting, healing arts and poetry. While always holding a “day job” she completed classes in art, filmmaking and literary subjects at Pasadena City College, City College of San Francisco, and the New College of San Francisco.

At the end of every piece of music there is a Coda. The piece is either at its end or it bears repetition.
