Open Call: Freedom and Consent 
After 250 years of declaring equality, freedom and liberty

About the Exhibition:  In 2026, The United States of America celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We take a moment to contemplate the meanings behind these treasured words. What do they mean to us as artists in America today? Artists are asked to submit work that reflects upon the past, envisions the future or speaks to our present experiences. Artwork might explore ideas of migration and American-ness or fully expressing one’s identity in the framework of the “American Dream.”

Eligibility: 

• Open nationally to artists of all backgrounds and ages.
• All mediums are welcome. All work submitted should be display ready. Please note that no giclée prints of original art/non-photographic art will be accepted. No AI please.
• ​Please note if artwork is interactive.

​Submission Guidelines:

• Artists may submit up to three pieces of original artwork for consideration.
• Work must have been made within the last two years.
• The suggested maximum dimensions are 4' x 4' x 4'. If you would like to submit a larger piece, please contact us at [email protected]. 
• Submissions must be accompanied by a brief artist statement (50-100 words) explaining the inspiration and significance of the artwork.​ This statement may be displayed alongside the artwork in the exhibition.  
• Artists should include a short bio (100-150 words) highlighting their background, artistic journey, and any relevant experiences or achievements.​

• ​Admission to view the exhibition: free and open to the public
• Submission Deadline: April 26, 2026
• Deliver Art to ACCI Gallery: Sunday, June 1, 12-5pm, Monday June 2, 11am-5pm
• ​Exhibition Dates:  Saturday June 6 - Sunday July 5, 2026
• Opening Reception: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 4-6pm
• Pick Up Artwork: Monday, July 6, 2026

• Pay the submission fee of $35.00

Selected artists will be notified via email and will have the opportunity to participate in the exhibition.

​SPECIFICATIONS​

1. Artists may submit up to three pieces of art for consideration. 
2. All pieces in the exhibition must be for sale. The artist will receive 50% of the sales price and the ACCI Gallery will take a 50% commission. An ACCI consignment agreement will be required for all exhibiting artists.
3. Image files must be .jpg file format, minimum 900 pixels on long edge. Quality images suitable for print are highly preferred.
4. Participating work must be delivered ready to hang/install.
5. ACCI MEMBERS: DO NOT PAY THE ENTRY FEE. Simple close your browser window after you are redirected to the entry fee page.
