Eva Pearlingi

Jewelery  |  Textiles

Eva Pearlingi is a mixed media artist who grew up in the Mid-Klamath region of rural Northern California. Many of her works are inspired by her experiences in that place, ranging from abstract watercolor paintings, lace making, fiber arts pieces, intaglio and block prints, and mixed media sculptures. She attended College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor ME, focusing on visual arts as a way to express research and experience; inviting reflection and curiosity about environmental and social issues.

The intricacy and beauty of tatting is what drew Eva to the art when she took up a needle (and later a shuttle) when she was 14. From doilies, edge work, earrings, additions to clothing, and use in her fiber arts tapestries, tatting has been a source of visual repetition and tactile connection in her work. Since the majority of tatting patterns are historical, Eva has enjoyed searching for old magazines at book sales, scouring the internet, studying paintings from the 1700s, and taking in the shapes and colors of the world around her to inspire her own patterns.

In her own life, Eva loves walks on the beach, cats, and earrings that bring brightness to her day.
