As a special celebration for our 65th anniversary, we are offering a unique opportunity to visit our artists' studios! Meet them in person and enjoy in-depth explanations and demonstrations of their art-making processes.
Visit mosaic artist Judy Rosenfield's sunny studio in her backyard garden in Oakland. It's packed with glass she's collected -- and projects underway. She will share how she works -- and give you a chance to experiment as well. Light snacks included. Ages 12 and up.

Experience the magic of glassblowing firsthand with an exclusive Berkeley studio tour led by master glass artist Bill Burch. Watch as he skillfully transforms molten glass into exquisite pieces, demonstrating the intricate techniques and artistry behind each creation. You'll learn about the unique tools and methods he uses to shape, color, and form his stunning glass sculptures and vessels.

David and Reed Bowman's spacious metal studio in West Berkeley enables the creation of their large and small scale metalwork in patinaed brass and copper. They are ready to demonstrate any and all of their idiosyncratic range of techniques of fabrication in brass and copper, patination, and foldforming. Those wishing to get hands-on with metal and torches can try their hands at patination with torch and brush, or with simple foldforming techniques. The content of the tour can be adjusted to your interests by negotiation in advance. Ages 11 and up.

Visit Karen Mason’s artist studio where she will demo painting in different mediums on resin covered backgrounds. Inspired by the surrounding flowers and trees in her garden, Karen will show how she creates texture, atmosphere, and depth in her unique style of painting on layers of resin.

Visit Natural dye & Botanical print artist, Mayumi Fujio in her newly created dye studio at the back of her house. You will see the process of natural dye and the way she gets the colors and shapes from fresh leaves and flowers. She will show you different color samples and how she create those. Light snacks included.
